Carbon Emmisions

Carbon Footprint analysis considers all aspects in the production and erection of the system concerned: extraction of raw materials, smelting, coating, profiling, transport and erection, maintenance over a typical 60 year life and recycling or disposal at the end of life.

Alternative products such as PIR core composite cladding panels may have significantly higher Carbon Footprints for two main reasons: firstly the chemicals used for the Polyisocyanurate foam core may have a high CO2 impact, and secondly these products are often difficult (and potentially impossible) to recycle therefore negating the significant end-of-life payback.
