Spreader Beams 
- Euroclad can supply Spreader Beams to enable lifting Roof Sheets up to 70 metres long.
- Sectional beams are available from 18 metres upto 60 metres long.
- At 60 metres the beam TARE is 3.1t and has a SWL of 2.5t.
Jargon Buster
Tare = unladen weight of spreader beam.
SWL = Safe Working Load [the maximun pack weight that can be lifted].

Banksman/Slinger = A trained person required to use predetermined signals to the crane driver during a lifting operation. Also trained in the safe use of slings/chains.
AP or Appointed Person = The AP is wholly responsible for a lifting operation. Trained in all aspects of the lift from safe loading to groun preparation. The AP is required to submit a Method Statement prior to a lifting operation. Contractor who do not have a trained AP may opt for a Contract Lift. Either way there must be an AP supervising any lifting operation.
Contract Lift = A lifting operation performed by the Crane Company providing the crane. All resposibility of performing the lift passes to the crane company. Lifting Plan/Method Statement/Slinging operation and RESPONSIBILITY for the lift. A Contract Lift is more expensive than a standard lift to a contractor, usually around 30% extra.
Mobile Tower Crane = A mobile tower crane is a type of crane that can improve the reach distance to a lifting operation where confined space restricts the space available for a regular type crane.
